These activities can augment the public's knowledge about solar energy, promote consumer confidence, and help consumers decide whether to install solar energy systems on their properties. Efforts can target numerous audiences, including residents and businesses, financial institutions, and students. Potential solar outreach service providers include state and local governments, community organizations, colleges and universities, nonprofit organizations, utilities, and industry associations.
