1 Introduction

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), through the Expert Group on Clean Fossil Energy of the Energy Working Group, has contracted2 CO2CRC Technologies Pty Ltd (CO2TECH) to prepare a study containing an assessment of the potential for reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from natural gas production in South-East Asia through carbon capture and storage (CCS). CO2TECH is the commercial arm of the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC).
